OneReport Becomes First US Software Provider to Receive Certification for GRI Standards Content
BRATTLEBORO, VERMONT—October 17, 2017—OneReport, Inc., a corporate responsibility (CR) information management and reporting services software provider, today announced that the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standard content within the tool has been certified. OneReport® has been a GRI Certified Software and Tools provider since the certifications program began, consistently providing clients with the most updated GRI frameworks that encompass Guidelines and Standards, along with data requirements needed for successful reporting. OneReport is the first US-based software provider to receive certification for Standards content through the GRI Certified Software and Tools Program.
Program certification assures organizations that OneReport accurately reflects content from the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards, which are the most extensively used sustainability reporting standards worldwide. Until June 30, 2018 reporting organizations can choose to publish reports based on one of two accepted GRI frameworks: G4 and Standards. Beginning July 1, 2018, only GRI Standards will be available. OneReport enables companies to choose either framework during this reporting window.
OneReport helps leading organizations navigate corporate responsibility frameworks, pilot the information capture and response process, and deliver data to raters and stakeholders. With pre-structured input forms and embedded guidance and support, organizations can plan, understand the commonalities and nuances among different standards and ratings, self-publish a GRI content index and a PDF version of their GRI report, and link GRI information with other frameworks such as the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Reporting organizations have the option to focus exclusively on GRI’s frameworks, although most public companies use OneReport to integrate information common to other frameworks and research organizations, reducing duplicative work and simplifying the reporting process.
“Having integrated the GRI reporting Guidelines and Standards since OneReport’s inception, we are pleased to complete the certification process for the new GRI Standards. We are delighted to continue supporting reporting organizations of all sizes as they plan, manage and report based on the GRI,” said Janice Warren, president of OneReport. “Our mission is to simplify the often overwhelming process of managing information requests from leading investment research and ratings organizations and frameworks. This certification enables clients to access current GRI content through our software and to simplify reporting based on current GRI requirements. We are a member of the GOLD Community and support the mission of GRI to empower decision makers everywhere through GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards and its multi-stakeholder network, and to take action towards a more sustainable economy and world.” OneReport has worked with the GRI for nearly 15 years.
“After four generations of Guidelines, GRI launched its Standards in October 2016. In less than one year of the launch, the Standards have been downloaded by thousands of users. GRI Certified Software and Tools Program guarantees that the relevant content from the Tool is correct as per the GRI Standards, enabling robust and transparent reporting,” said Shivani Rajpal, Head of Services – Global Reporting Initiative. “We are happy to certify the content of OneReport’s online Tool as per GRI Standards and look forward to our continued collaboration with OneReport.”
